Getting to Florence by train

The city's main railway station is Firenze S.M.N. (Santa Maria Novella). Situated in the city centre, it is conveniently close to the major tourist attractions. The station area is also the principal node for buses serving the city and surrounding area (see Moving around by bus).

The second most important station is Firenze Campo di Marte, which is being used increasingly for national and international train services. The Firenze Campo di Marte train station is just outside the main ring that surrounds the historical city center, and is next to the city's Artemio Franchi soccer stadium, where the Fiorentina plays its matches.

STAZIONE FS S.M.N. is open from 4.15 a.m. to 1.30 a.m. For timetables and more information, visit www.trenitalia.it/

ATAF buses: all the main lines stop at Firenze S.M.N.; only the 12 and 13 bus go to or near the Campo di Marte train station. A few others that stop near the Campo di Marte station are buses 6, 10, 20 and 33.
