6 nights in Tuscany

Hi guys,
We're a young married couple (no kids yet), and are planning a Rome-Tuscany trip in October. It will be 8 nights. We're renting a car in Rome upon arrival, and going up north immediately.

We'd like to spend 5-6 nights in Tuscany, in 2 different locations, starting from the north of Tuscany, and going south later. I personally would love to visit Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre if it's on route, and specifically this place:

Can you please help me with finding the best villages to sleep in, and building the trip route? i.e best places to visit, best wineries etc...

Also, what is the weather like around October?

Thank you vary much,
Mark.

Rome to Tuscany

Buongiorno,

A suggestion could be:

First 2 days stay in Siena, and a day trip in the Val d'Orcia

Second stop Montespertoli area enjoy the wine and small towns (for example: San Gimignano, Volterra, Certaldo, Pistoia) I especially like the B&B Candida

stay in Florence, drop of the car and then can take the train out for a day trip to CT and of course day exploring Florence ;-)

train it back to Rome (you really don't need the car in Florence and Rome)

Buon Viaggio,

Donna Denise
