2 days in Florence in a wheelchair

Hi,

I'm planning to visit Florence this summer with my sisters and my mum who is mostly in a wheelchair- she can walk a bit but not very well and isn't great with steps.

Can anyone please recommend what we can do in our two days to really feel like she's seen Florence but without the stress of not being able to get around because of her wheelchair? Toilets are always a stress!

Hotels, restaurants (with accessible toilets), museums, sights etc. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thank you,
Kerry

I would say to concentrate your time between Piazza Duomo and Piazza della Signoria. The Baptistery, cathedral, Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery are all wheelchair accessible and the streets in between (Via Calzaiuoli) is manageable to do. Avoid some of the smaller side streets in between as the cobblestones might not be in the best condition.

If you stick to restaurants in this area, on ground level, you should not have problems.
