I'm trying to decide if I should fly from Nice to Rome, overnight in Rome (as the flight arrives too late to get to Termini and then find and catch the right train), or train it from Nice to Florence? I understand there are a number of train connections with this choice. Could this be problematic with two suitcases and a pack?
As Lucca and Cinque Terre are in my plans, should I train it to Rome, stopping in La Spezia and use this as a hub for about three days? Then on to Rome to connect to Florence?
Any suggestions? I appreciate anything that comes my way. I'm doing this trip in October.
Also, does anyone have an idea about getting from Florence to Vienna?
Thank you.
