    Default northern Tuscany and Florence

We are planning a return trip to Tuscany following a river cruise in October. We stayed last in southern Tuscany. We went to Montepulciano, Olivieto, Pienza, Cortina, etc.....This time we want to be closer to Florence for easy day trips there, but we still want the feel of quiet, beautiful Tuscany. Should we base in Chianti or in the Lucca area? We will have a rental car (I understand we can now rent cars to age 75).....but we don't know if accessible trains would be easier. On another trip we did Sienna, San Gimignano, etc.....Looking for slightly different experience with easy returns to Florence.....Any particular property rental companies or properties to tout?

    Default Northern Tuscany

    Buongiorno -

another area in north Tuscany that often gets left behind, but is very beautiful is Mugello

I just visited both of these places and either one would give you a great opportunity to meet the locals and enjoy a relaxing environment which is exceptionally warm and welcoming:

    Buon Viaggio
