Villa il Poggiale is a beautiful family villa in Tuscany turned into a luxurious bed and breakfast to offer you accommodation in the heart of Chianti as you venture and explore this ancient land. Located just 20 minutes south of Florence, the Renaissance Tuscany villa has been entirely restored to offer hospitality and warm atmosphere of a patrician family country house. Each room has a private bathroom, its own minibar, satellite TV, direct dial telephone and modem, safe, and air conditioning. Just like a hotel in Tuscany but better as we offer many more services and the privacy and feel of a private home. From June until the end of September, the outdoor swimming pool is open for our guests enjoyment. We also have a well-stocked wine cellar for our guests year round, to enjoy the areas viticultural treasures.
Villa il Poggiale also offers a conference room for guests who wish to organize small business meetings at the villa. Upon request and depending on the season, we can also organize trips to Siena during the famous Palio horse race, to San Miniato to hunt for truffles, to nearby farms to enjoy the newly pressed olive oil and local cheeses and to the most prestigious wineries for a memorable wine tasting outing. Our beautiful breakfast room
Breakfast is served in the bright and cheerful room that used to be at one time long ago the children's playroom.
The breakfast buffet that we serve can be justly called a "Tuscan Breakfast". Fresh ricotta cheese, jams, honey and prosciutto are supplied by nearby farms. Apple cinnamon cake, fruit tart, brioche bread, chocolate cake and quiches are all home made, some from old family recipes.
A lovely day in the countryside starts with a good breakfast so we make sure we provide one.

Services our Tuscany Villa offers to our guests
- Meeting room - The "Tinaia", the old wine cellar, is a vast vaulted room opening onto the garden. It is now used as a meeting room for small conventions (30/40 people)
- Swimming pool (20 x 6 meters) - Open from May 15th to October 15th. On request, a delicious light lunch can be prepared in the house.
- Transport - It is possible to book a car transfer service to and from the following destinations: Florence airport (€ 40), Pisa airport (€ 95), Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence (€ 35).
- Cooking lessons (from 2 to 10 people on request) - Our chef is an expert in Tuscan cuisine as well as other Italian regions: from the French influenced Piedmont cooking to the flamboyant cuisine of Naples and Sicily, which still harbours echoes of its Arab and Spanish heritage. We will be glad to arrange for you a personalized cooking course.
- Car rental with driver - Cars with driver are available for tours of the surrounding areas and of any other part of Tuscany.
- Massotherapy (Monday and Wednesday mornings) - Elena is a professional masseuse and expert on various beauty treatments. Hers, is a very special personal touch, entirely in tune with the atmosphere of Il Poggiale.

Directions to Villa il Poggiale:
Take the "Autostrada del Sole" (A1) highway, and exit at "Firenze Certosa". From here enter the speedway to Siena, and take the first exit called San Casciano V.P.. Drive for a couple of km and just before entering San Casciano, take a right turn towards Empoli-Cerbaia. After approximately 3 km, on your left you will find Villa il Poggiale, surrounded by cypress trees.
