My wife and I will be completing a leg of the spain camino on 14th October 2014 and we will be looking for a villa in Tuscany for just the two of us for about 7-10 days. We would like to have a view and not be too far away from a village with restaurants, markets etc. a 1 bed villa in the siena area which is not too far from Florence where we will be arriving by plane from Leon seems attractive but am open to all suggestions from previous Tuscan travellers and experts suggestions. Budget is fair around the $1200 AUD per week? or less. In summary, we will be looking for a quiet villa for a recovery after the camino but would like to be able to drive to major attractions within the 1-1.5 hrs duration as we also have to get back to Rome to fly back home.

Dear Joe,
an exclusive villa for just the two of you is not easy to find. Usually villas accommodate from 6 to 10 people, since are quite big and have more than just a bedroom.
Aternatively, you could look for a self catering apartment in a small villa, like Villa Vignacce, where there are only 3 independent apartments, perfect for enjoying your privacy during holiday. The villa is located at 5 minutes walking distance from Bettolle, a small town where you may find restaurants and any kind of service you may need, about an hour driving distance from Florence and less than 40 minutes from Siena.

Other interesting options are self catering apartments in small residences or farmhouses, where you may find completely independent accommodation in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, without being to far from services. A suggestion could be the Farmhouse la Topaia, situated 25 kms north of Florence - close to the enchanting Mugello valley - that has two completely independent apartments fully furnished, one accommodating up to three people...seems suiting your needs and requires:

Hope it may helps and...have a good camino and an even better recovery in Tuscany :)
