Hi,
We will be visiting Italy between 01-06 Jun for 5 days, as three couples. We are driving to Italy from Paris by car through Switzerland and Austria. We plan departing Innsbruck in Austria on 01 Jun and reach the Tuscany Region. Thereafter, we must depart Italy on 06 Jun. We were wondering if we could find a central location in the Tuscany region as base and from there take day trips to nearby locations. We would like to visit Rome, Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre and surrounding areas. Since we have limited days do you think we should stay somewhere in the Tuscany region, so that we won't need to shift hotels on a daily basis /all the time? Which place in Tuscany would make the best spot to stay to reach everywhere with ease, while also provide us an enjoyable experience?

where to stay as a base

Buongiorno!
You could consider staying in Sovicille (have a look at www.prolocosovicille.it, so that you have an idea of the area)!
- Sovicille / Siena: 13 kms
- Sovicille / Florence: 80 kms
- Sovicille / Pisa: 120 kms
- Sovicille / Rome: 240 kms
- Sovicille / Cinque Terre (for example, La Spezia): 240 kms
It is not easy to see all those places having only one day for every place. If you stay in Tuscany, than you will have time enough to see the wonderful towns that are in Tuscany; Siena, Florence, Pisa, Lucca etc.
but you will not have enough time for Rome or Cinque Terre if you have to drive there, visit the town/s and than come back to Tuscany ...
