Hello,
I need advise on where to base myself in Tuscany (I know this question is quite popular but I haven't found any posts that are similar to my situation).
Our plan is: we arrive in Florence and we will rent a car to explore southern Tuscany for 3 days. We'll then come back to Florence and spend 2 nights in Florence.
I need help in deciding where to base myself in Southern Tuscany. During the 3 days we'd like to visit - Chianti Area, San Gimignano, Siena, and the Val D'Orcia region (if time permits we'll add Cortona to the plan). Again we'll have a car so we plan on driving everywhere.
I think we've narrowed down the options to basing ourselves in Chianti or Siena (we thought Val D'Orcia is too south). Please let me know which would be a better base. We'd like to stay in a place in the countryside that has views of the tuscan hills and landscape.
thanks.
