Quiet section yet within Historical Center

Hello,
I've read through some of the threads but I'm still unsure which sections of Florence within the Historical Center to stay that are less noisey, we aren't looking for any nightlife, just a quite place to sleep after sightseeing. We won't have a car so a location that is easy to get to when we exit the train would be great, we're coming from Venice. Also, any suggestions on a trip outside of the city for a few hours to see the countryside (not wine related).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. :)

Thank you Donna, unfortunately these properties are unavailable for my dates. It would be helpful to know which "section" of Florence in the Historic area that have less nightlife. And any idea for trips/tours not wine related outside the city without a car?

Quiet in Florence

Hi - sorry to hear all three are booked...

You might have seen by looking at the map that the three I suggested are all over Florence - because there really isn't one specific area to aim at - what you are looking for are structures that don't face main roads - are in a residential area (like Oltrarno) or are well built with sound proofing windows.

You might want to give this place a try as well, it is closer to the Campo di Marte train station (not as busy as the SMN):

When are you coming, what month/period? I would suggest to stay away from some of the main squares in the summer when a lot of summer events are on in the evenings which might not make the place you select particularly quiet.

I would recommend the area between San Lorenzo and Piazza della Liberta' as a good residential area, as well as the area around Piazza Massimo d'Azeglio. In the first area, I would recommend you take a look at the Antiche Dimore Fiorentine which I review here: http://www.visitflorence.com/historical-florentine-homes.html

Here are suggestions for day trips - most of them not wine-related: https://www.visitflorence.com/itineraries-in-florence/top-day-trips-from-florence.html
