Default Events near San Quiroco d'Orcia 7 to 14 Apr & in Florence 15th to 21st Apr 2015

Just wondering what might be on in the San Quiroco d'Orcia area and surrounds between the 7th and 14th of April 2015 ... concerts, festivals, and so on. What about in Florence between the 15th and 21st of April? Is there anything special on that we could book for early? We will have a car. TY

    Dear Clarisa,
what a shame you won't be able to assist at the Explosion of the Cart in Florence: it's annualy held on the Easter Sunday, but unfortunately next year it will be the 5th of April... From the 17th to the 19th of April there will be the Florence Bike Festival on the Parco delle Cascine: it's a festival dedicated to all bike lovers, but a wonderful occasion for enjoying a real Tuscan event set on a marvellous park like the Cascine.
On the 18th and 19th of April there will be Fortezza Antiquaria, an antiques market annualy held on the third week of the month in the area around the Fortezza da Basso.

If you have a look at this page:
    http://www.visitflorence.com/florenc.../calendar.html
you'll find out all events calendar in Florence: for the moment only the Fortezza Antiquaria is mentioned, but many are not communicated until a few days earlier, so I suggest you check again before leaving in April or late March - the page is constantly updated.

Castilgione sul Lago, instead, about 1 hour driving distance from San Quirico d'Orcia, will be home to the Festa del Tulipano (Tulip Festival) on the 12 of April (date is still to be confirmed, but this event will take place around the same time of last edition).

    Enjoy your Tuscan stay!

In Tuscany, and all of Italy for that matter, many festivals and events are held more or less around the same time every year but the exact dates are decided just a few weeks ahead of time (unless they fall on a specific day, like a patron saint's day). So just go ahead and book your lodging, but as far as events go, just plan to come back to this site and the events calendar to check a few weeks before you come - that's when we'll know for sure when and what is taking place around those dates .
