Default a month in the Duomo

My wife and I have rented an apartment for a month (mid Oct - mid-Nov) in the Duomo. Now we want t to start gathering info on food markets, pasta classes, and winery tours. Thanks!

OK, I posted these questions, 5 people read them, but no one replied. I'm posting this to see if the Reply link is broken. Also the edit profile link does not work (says I don't have authorization to edit my profile). And the Calendar ends with dates in 2011.

There are a lot of people on our forum visiting every day and looking around for information, most don't post LOL! doesn't mean the forum is broken LOL!

Do you mean you are staying NEAR the duomo in Florence?

There are two main food markets in Florence, the San Lorenzo and Sant'Ambrogio markets. If you search for them on google maps, you will be able to see their locations. Both are open everyday except on Sunday in the mornings, from 7am to 2pm.

As for cooking classes and tours - are you looking for just a day class or something that lasts longer?
You can start by looking at the ones here for cooking classes: http://www.visitflorence.com/what-to...oking-classes/ and for tours: http://www.partner.viator.com/en/835...in-Tuscany/ttd

Thanks for the info. I took a short pasta class there in 73 and look forward to one a bit longer. I have been to the Duomo but my wife thinks that is also the name of the surrounding area. Our apartment is supposed to be less than a 5 minute walk from the Duomo. Is there an online calendar of events for our timeframe: 3 months out (we leave in September but don't arrive in Florence until mid-October)?

Yes, the Duomo is the cathedral and the entire area around is basically called the "duomo area" but it doesn't exist as a name per se of the neighborhood. If you say you are staying in the Duomo, no one will understand. There are also many apartments or B&Bs or hotels that take some part of Duomo in their name, so it can be confusing!

As for the events, we are at this moment compiling a whole bunch for the summer to be added to the calendar here: http://www.visitflorence.com/florenc.../calendar.html
For the period of "September-October", you'll have to check back closer to your date of departure.
Here is the one for Tuscany in general, make sure to check both: http://www.discovertuscany.com/tusca.../calendar.html

For cooking classes, the first one on that list definitely offers options for classes spread out for several days... then there is another one called "Vinarium" that offers day courses (search on Google).
