    Default Small towns of Tuscany

Planning to visit Florence in Sept-Oct. Apart from Florence would like to visit nearby small towns which remain largely unchanged. I'm a photographer particularly interested in towns with old buildings, alleys, archways, flea-markets etc. Can anyone suggest one or two such towns?

    Try Monteriggioni, Lucca, San Gimignano.

    Default Poppi in Casentino

It may be because I lived here for several years but Poppi in Casentino between Florence and Arezzo is high on my list.

However you can check out this link for pretty little towns in Tuscany - they have very strict rules on who they select and one of the principle characteristics is that the towns has to be mainly untouched or has to have "hidden" the signs of modern times like phone wires etc.

    Buon Viaggio
