What to do in Florence for Christmas

Buongiorno,

definitely count on the museums being closed for Christmas day and though many restaurants will not be opening their doors for the holidays, there will still be plenty that will be open. However, I do strongly suggest that you make reservations to ensure a place. You might want to start by checking out our suggested top restaurants: http://www.visitflorence.com/eating-and-drinking-in-florence/restaurants-in-florence.html

Check out our article for activities in Florence on Dec 25th: https://www.visitflorence.com/what-to-do-in-florence/christmas-in-florence.html

This is normally a time for families to spend together, but you will see that in the afternoon the streets will slowly fill up with people looking to stretch their legs after the enormous lunch and the atmosphere will be magical.

Another tradition is visiting the nativity scenes which will be at almost every church (read our article for a little more info: http://www.discovertuscany.com/what-to-see-in-tuscany/presepe-tuscan-nativity-scene.html) This is a fun activity, while wandering around stop in at the many churches and search out the presepe!

Buon Viaggio,

Donna Denise
