Michelangelo crypt
Is it still possible to visit the crypt that Michelangelo used when in exile.
It is located inside the medici tombs and was available to visit on request

Crypt
Buongiorno,
Do you mean the room under The New Sacristy of the San Lorenzo Basilica in Florence (aka the Medici Chapel) where Michelangelo hid from the Medici family and left a series of drawings on the walls?

Yes! This is what I would like to know. Is it at all possible to visit his hiding place and see the drawings?

Crypt
Buongiorno,
I result that it is not open to the public - mainly due to the fact that the exposure will deteriorate the drawings on the walls. It opens on special occasions, for example in 2014 when we celebrated the 450th anniversary of the death of Michelangelo.
Buon Viaggio,
Donna Denise
