minor disability tourism
My wife uses a cane when walking about. We often use wheelchairs, if available, when visiting large museums. Are wheelchairs--or walkers--available for borrowing or rental in Florence's larger museums like the Accademia and the Pitti?

Make sure to read this, it has a few places that rent out wheelchairs if you'll find it more comfortable during your entire stay:

Only the Uffizi has about 6 wheelchairs available for use, on a first-come, first-served basis. Accademia and Pitti do not, as far as I know.

I took my handicap card placard with me
to the Uffizi and had no trouble getting a wheel chair. There are many cobblestone streets which might cause a little difficulty with a cane, especially when wet
