where to stay in Florence

Hi,
Will be visiting Florence for 5 days in March, taking the train in from Milan. Bringing my mother-in-law, so want to be able to walk around and see the sites easily. I have never been to Florence. I assume we need to stay in the city center or close by. Will need lodging for three. Looking for safe, clean, charming so we feel like we are really visiting the region, close proximity to restaurants that are typical tourist eateries. Want to make this very special for my mother-in-law so a charming and quaint place is what I am looking for.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Making it perfect in Florence

Buongiorno,

There really are so many places to choose from in Florence - so I am going to limit my selection to either those I have visited personally or that I have worked with recently.

I like this apartment because of the position - and the views AND because it is an apartment that actually give the person(s) sleeping on the sofabed a bit of privacy.

I have visted this apartment and both the decor and the position are excellent. You will find the owners are charming!

I have visited these B&Bs and all of them offer something special and very characteristic of Florence. They will definitely make your stay very special

Again, I have personally visited these B&B rooms, and the family atmosphere, lovely decor and proximity to everything make them an excellent choice.

So this is new, and I have not had a chance to visit them - but the decor is very traditional and in a great position.

As for taking your mother-in-law to some traditional restaurants, have a read through this article for some of my best suggestions:

Buon Viaggio,

Thank you!

Hi Donna,
Thank you for your input. We chose the bed and breakfast Antiche Dimore Florentine - Residenza Johanna. We are looking forward to our trip!

Panini Toscani

I visited Panini Toscani as I’d seen the good reviews. They aren’t wrong. As others have said, every single customer receives a very warm welcome, and the service was excellent.
