We will be in Florence Easter weekend (Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 1) and I did not act fast enough to buy the tickets and get a time slot to climb the Dome. All the spaces are booked Saturday and Sunday and it appears to be closed on Easter Sunday.

Has anyone had any luck just going to the Dome and trying to be "on stand-by" to climb the Dome? We would purchase our cumulative ticket to see all the monuments, but we would not have a scheduled time to climb the Dome. I am wondering if there are any strategies - such as going right away in the morning or very late in the afternoon - or over lunch - that would help us get a climbing time once we get there, maybe taking the place of someone who does not show up?

Your suggestions and ideas are appreciated!
