General question for mass inside the duomo

Hey guys!

As I am staying for a really long time in Florence I would like to attend mass at the duomo (English or Italian does not matter) but I can't figure out which entrance to take for that. Can you help me with that? Is it the entrance that is only for prayer during tourist opening times?

Have a nice weekend!

Buongiorno,

I am sure that visiting the church at the Duomo will be an emotional moment! Here are the hours, as you approach the entrance just let the guard know that you are attending the religious service and they will escort you to the proper area.

Holiday Hours: 7:30 - 9:00 - 10:30 - (Gregoriano Chants) - 12:00 - (with Organ music) - 18:00 - (with Organ music)

Weekday Hours: 7:30 - 8:30 - 9:30 - 10:30 - (in the Battistero di S.Giovanni) - 11:30 - (in the Battistero di S.Giovanni) - 18:00

If you are going to be here several weeks - be sure to check out some of the other churches - both the more popular like Santa Croce, San Lorenzo and Santa Maria Novella. However, I suggest that you check out some of the lesser known churches as well, check out this link for more info on other churches: http://www.visitflorence.com/florence-churches/

Buon Viaggio,

Donna Denise

The entrance for mass is on the south side. If you face the Duomo, go to the right past the bell tower all the way to the second entrance right by the smaller domes to the side of the large dome. That's the entrance for worship.

I'm just wondering if it's possible to get to a church service remotely via Skype, for example?
I don't think so, have not seen that at all even during reduced times with covid. Mass was televised during those times.
