    Default 8 Days in Florence

We are spending 8 days in Florence in October. We have our schedule pretty well set and we find we have an open day. We are planning on day trips to Sienna and Lucca. We have already visited Volterra and Pisa, so we are looking for suggestions for another day trip.

    Thanks,
    Dave

You don't tell us what else you have planned as far as day trips during the 8 days so we likely will suggest something already on your list -- these are some additional ideas (maybe one or two might not be on your list yet!):

    - San Gimignano
    - Greve, Panzano and Castellina
    - Arezzo and Cortona
    - Pistoia and Prato
    - Mugello for chestnut festival
In the beginning stages of planning to come to Tuscany? Make sure to read Where to Stay in Tuscany WITH a car and Where to Stay in Tuscany WITHOUT a car for ideas on where to stay in Tuscany. Also read When to Visit Tuscany to decide when is the best times for your visit.

    Lordes,
    Thanks for your response.

We don't have any other day trips scheduled. We have already visited San Gimignano, Greve and Castallina. We are not familiar with the other places you have mentioned. The chestnut festival in Mugello sounds interesting

Can you give me some more information about Pistoia?
