Travel from Rome Ciampino airport to Florence

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a visit to Florence in May. I'll arrive at Rome Ciampino airport from Athens, Greece and any advice on onward travel to Florence via bus or train would be great, thanks in advance. Marion

From Ciampino airport, you can take a bus (such as Terravision or Flixbus) for around 6 euros to Termini station (main train station in Rome) and then from there catch a train to Florence's Santa Maria Novella train station. From Termini you can catch the Freccia trains which are the fast ones (around an hour and a half ride as opposed to over 3 hours on the "regional" trains. You can buy tickets once you arrive at the airport, so that you don't have to worry about booking for a set time ahead of time - with air travel, you never really know how long it takes to get out of the airplane/airport.

For a complete answer, you should know that Flixbus also goes from Rome to Florence but not from the airport --- from the airport you would need to first go to Tiburtina, catch the bus there and then the Flixbus stops in Villa Costanza along the A1, not entering Florence center so it is less convenient for that reason as well!
