Ticket to get in Accademia Gallery

We are looking to visit the Accademia and have been advised to pre-purchase a ticket to skip the line. We aren't looking for a tour just a ticket to skip the line. I have found advertised prices from 6.5 euro to 21.50 euro for pre-purchased tickets. What is the most cost effective way to get tickets? I thought about the FirenzePASSport, I found the advertised price at $14.50 but then it appears we have to purchase additional ticket for Gallery. PLEASE advise.

I also advise to get the ticket ahead of time, even if it costs more, since it will save time waiting in line.

When are you coming to Florence? The 6,50 euro is the BASE price when there are NO TEMPORARY EXHIBITS at the Accademia (or the Uffizi Gallery) AND you wait in line and buy the ticket there. Even if you wait in line, if there is an exhibit, the price is then 11 euro.

All of the other variations in cost have the online booking fees and commissions for third party vendors. Some sites allow for changes and cancellations (for a fee), others don't. So what may seem cheaper may turn out to be more if you can't cancel or get a partial redund.

We recommend buying online at http://www.accademia.org/ - full disclosure is they are our affiliates and we get a small commission from your ticket cost.
But even if price is higher than what is found on other sites, they are ones that allow changes/cancellations if you were to need them.

Another option is to buy the FirenzeCard if you're in Florence 3 days and planning to visit lots of museums. Read this article in any case, as it explains more about museums and tickets in Florence:
