Beach chair rentals

My family will have an apartment in Marina di Pietrasanta from August 15- 30, 2014. We will use it as a base and also go to Cinque Terre for one night and Lucca for a day as well as other places. Can we rent beach chairs and umbrellas by the day. We did this on the Costa Brava in Spain and it worked out perfectly.
Any information will be appreciated. Thanks, Janis

Beach rentals

Some Tuscan sun - sounds great.

You can most definitely rent chairs, umbrellas, ect at the beach .... there are lots of places. You should check with your apartment rental because sometimes they have an arrangement with someone at a good price, or they can at least send you in the direction of someone - especially since this is a pretty busy week in Italy.

Remember that the 15th of August is a National holiday - and though restaurants and cafes are sure to be open as well as many other tourist services... you might find that supermarkets are a bit scarce. If your apartment had the possibility of having a welcome basket for you for that first night, it might be a good choice.

Thanks Donna,
We are very glad to know we can rent chairs and umbrellas by the day in Marina di Pietrsanta, Tuscany.

Practically all of the main beaches in Tuscany will have a section that is free and another area with an "establishment" offering umbrellas and chairs for rent, a bar for food and drinks and maybe even a changing room/restroom. It really depends on the size of the beach and how "wild" they are, but nowadays most are not really that hidden - there are a few that are harder to get to and require a hike down cliffs (such as on Elba) but they aren't a secret anymore. So expect many of the easier to get to offer services for your enjoyment for a day at the sea!
