I am planning a visit to Italy in June/July 2016. We'll be visiting the Amalfi Coast, Pompei, Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre, Milan, Lake Como, Venice and, of course, Tuscany.

I am keen to stay somewhere at/near a vineyard and am desperate to see the sunflower fields. We will have 2 nights in the Tuscany region (not including Florence).

From my research it looks as if we are best to hire a car to make the most of this area?

Can anyone recommend some towns to consider staying in with great views and from where we could easily access the sunflower fields?

Sunflowers in July

Buongiorno,

Just recently I had the opportunity to interview the owners of these two places and had the very pleasant surprise that both of them were surrounded by lots of sunflower opportunities. Normally I would have suggested going further south - but these are in Mugello and great. The best month is July - towards the middle (to end):
