Free museum Sundays
How easy or crazy is it visiting the major museums in Florence on the free first Sunday?
We're going in April 2016

I would avoid the major museums - the Uffizi and Accademia - on that day and take advantage and visit the other museums.
The Uffizi back in December (when it is low season) had the line, under rain, all the way around the building and down the street towards Ponte Vecchio. I heard some waited in line around 3 hours to get in.
Shame, because the smaller museums might see more crowds than usual but are as equally valid and beautiful - and being free that Sunday, I would highly recommend switching it up and going to some of those!
