Siena or San Gimignano

I will be visiting the region in mid-April for 6 nights. We plan on spending 3 nights in Tuscany to visit several hilltowns, wineries, etc. then into Florence for 3 nights before heading to Venice. We will have a car since we are driving from San Remo to La Spezia, then on to Tuscany.

Can you tell me which town would be most centralized to visit the Chianti region as well as Siena?

Grazie!

Hello,

The Chianti region is a very broad term. That said, if you are not interested in also visiting the more southern areas, like Montalcino or Brunello, then i would stay in san Gimignano. Otherwise Siena is better and is also more like a "real" city.
