Farmhouses in Tuscany

Buongiorno,

I a going to offer you three general links so you can browse and become familiare with a few things. However, to really be able to direct you to something suitable I would need a little more info (preferred area, special requirements, maybe even an idea of what you imagined the farmhouse or place to be like)

This link gives you some info on what to look for, I suggest you read this one first:
https://www.discovertuscany.com/tuscany-villas/10-tips-for-a-villa-rental.html

Then you can look at this link, where there are several farmhouses that I have visited personally and did a review:
https://www.discovertuscany.com/tuscany-accommodation/our-reviews/

And then this is a link to several farmhouses - remember on our sites you book direct with the owner - there is no middle man fee.

What is a good centralized area to stay in?

Thank you for sharing the links! We will be travelling as a couple and are planning to spend 2 nights in the Chianti area in May where we will explore wineries,Siena & San Gimi during the day, and then head to Cinque Terre after. Would you recommend a particular area we should spend the nights in?

We are still deciding if we should rent a car or rely on...tours or bus? Leaning towards getting a car but I dont think it is advisable to drive to CT so will need to figure that out.

Any advice is much appreciated, thank you!

Where to base yourself in Tuscany

Buongiorno,

A few things to consider, for the type of days trips you are considering (wine, Siena & San Gim) and then moving over to CT - then I suggest you look in the area of Casold d'Elsa, Colle val d'Elsa, Poggibonsi, San Donato or even San Gimignano.

Late September should already put you in low season - or mid season, so you will find the prices are already pretty reasonable. And if the last few years are anything to go on, you will find that there shouldn't be too many surprises with heating because we have been experience lovely weather all the way into October.

I just recently visited Casa Podere Monti which you might like.

Buon Viaggio,

Donna Denise
