Visiting Tuscany in May
Hello,
We will be taking a trip to Italy in May. We will arrive in Florence and plan to stay in Italy for 10 days to visit Tuscany. I would like some suggestions as to where to to stay and cities to visit. The return will be from Rome to Paris. These are our plans so far (booked only air so far):
==> Stay in Florence 4 days
- Explore Florence 2 days
- Lucca and Pisa (guided tour) 1 day
- Cinque Terre (guided tour) or take the train?? 1 day
==> Stay in Siena 3 days
We are planning to rent a car to visit (if time allow us to do so): Assisi, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Cortona, Volterra, San Gimignano.
==> Stay in Ovierto a day
==> Rome 1 day
Since we will be leaving from Rome, we are planning to stay there one day. We have been to Rome already so we just want to walk around the city.
How soon should I book the hotels?
I appreciate any suggestions.

Caldendar in May
Buongiorno,
your time division looks great.
I suggest a tour for Cinque Terre, have a look at this review to give you an idea of what it covers.
Assisi is great - but it is a bit out of your range while staying in Siena. It makes for a long day and lots of driving. I would concentrate on the other places you mentioned - a more compact itinerary which let's you max your time with out stressing.
Buon Viaggio,
Donna Denise
