Greetings from the Philippines. Our family compose of my 90 year old mother, three siblings, our 7 children and my 4 year old grandson are planning a trip to Central Italy. This is our third winter holiday in Europe. My mother cannot walk for long so we will bring her wheelchair and walker. This is our planned IT:
Dec 27, 2017 Arrive in Rome and stay in the center like near the Trevi Fountain/Spanish
Steps/Plaza Navona. Check our surroundings for restaurants and groceries.
Dec 28. Join a tour around Ancient Rome
Dec 29. Join a tour around the Vatican
Dec 30. My mom wants to go to the shrine of Padre Pio/ or join a tour to Pisa or
Lucca or Asissi
Dec 31. Attend Sunday mass, rest and wait for the New Years Eve
Jan 1, 2018. Attend New Years Day mass and transfer to Florence. Stay in the center
Near the Duomo or Uffizi so my mom will not have difficulties. Check
surroundings for restaurants and groceries because everything will be
closed
Jan 2. Walk around Florence and museum
Jan 3. Walk around Florence, museum and cross the river for the Petti Palace and
garden
Jan.4. Rent two vans that will fit 14 adults, one child and all our luggages.
Leave for a 7 day countryside base in Chianti or be based in Siena.
On the way pass an Outlet?
Jan 5. Go around Siena whole day
Jan 6. Go around Southern Tuscany ( Montepulciano,Fienzi, Montalcino?)and mass
For my mom will turn 91 years old
Jan 7. San Gimignano whole day and Sunday mass
Jan 8 Chianti full day. This is a Monday and maybe not a good idea to go around
because many museums will be closed? Should we just rest and enjoy our
based?
Jan 9. Pisa and Lucca if if did not do it earlier?
Jan 10. San Gimignano if we did not do it Jan 7 or another place
Jan 11. Leave for Rome and pass Umbria? With rented vans?
Jan 12 Rest or join a Pompai tour?
Jan 13. Flight back home

Pls comment on my IT. My concern is how my mom will be able to go around in the Tuscan small town which are uphill and far from the parking. What is needed to get a diisability card to park and not to line up for tickets in museums etc. where is the best place to be used as base, accommodations, what is special for these dates, how cold will these places be, suggested tours and what to avoid.

This will be the first time I will be doing this with a big group. Want it to be flexible and easy. No rush but with a bit of structure.
Hope someone can advise me. Thank you so much.

Family Vacation

Buongiorno,

you have a lot going on for this vacation. I have taken your schedule and made a few modifications to give you a bit more downtime (which I think will be very important) and to have you still visiting and enjoying A LOT of Tuscany. I tried to modify things to max from time visiting place but descrease your time driving.
