Map for the Via Francigena

My family is walking the Via Francigena from Lucca to Siena next month. Is there an accurate and detailed map available for this route?

Over how many days will you do the walk? That's very exciting, please let us know how it goes and what your experience along the way is!

I would suggest having a GPS and downloading the maps from the official website:
http://www.viefrancigene.org/en/mappe/
with the GPS tracks for each leg.

We've read buying a printed guide is useful for all the other info on what to see, what to expect, etc along the way but that the maps used are generally on a 1:50,000 scale which is not very useful for walking the trail. They just give you indication of towns and are too small in general. The GPS tracks are much better, since they are up to date (printed guides can get outdated quickly).

Enjoy the walk!!
