Hey All.

New to the forum and seeking some major help and advice.

Me and my girlfriend are visiting Florence from May 6th until May 9th this is firstly a surprise for her birthday but also.... I plan to ask her to marry me.

I’m after some advice and help on where would be a great setting to ask the question ?

If anyone knows of any student photographers that could take photos of the moment I ask and her reaction.

And then a nice place to eat and celebrate with a drink afterwards.

Any help and advice will be great.

Regards

Joshua

I have three wonderful locations:

- Hotel Villa San Michele, Fiesole - https://www.belmond.com/hotels/europe/italy/florence/belmond-villa-san-michele/. The main building was designed by Michelangelo and has a magnificent view over Florence. The wonderful gardens (especially in May) would be ideal for a marriage proposal followed by dinner at the La Loggia restaurant (outside but covered). This is, of the three, the most spectacular but is undoubtedly the most expensive option and having a photographer present may be problematic (best to clear with the hotel first).

- Piazzale Michelangelo followed by dinner at Il Loggiato - https://loggiapiazzalemichelangelo.com/ The views over the city are superb and in early May you should be able to eat outside (but covered). Making a proposal in Piazzale Michelangelo would almost be a public event and more than likely many will photo and video the event with subsequent Facebook, Youtube etc postings. Easily reachable from the city for yourselves and the photographer.

- Fiesole - when you arrive in the main square of Fiesole take the short walk up to the Convento di San Francesco. There are excellent views over the city and it is a great place to see the sunset (good excuse!). Afterwards you can dine back down in the square at Perseus Fiesolano - http://www.casatrattoria.com/ristor...o/?utm_source=tripadvisor&utm_medium=referral - related to the original Perseus down in Florence so the steaks are superb or Terrazza 45 - http://www.terrazza45.it/home.html. This latter restaurant has a terrace with views over the city and offers more vegetarian options.

As far as a student photographer is concerned I don't know of anyone but will make some enquiries.
