Lightbulb Wild swimming around Lucca/Tuscany general

I'm going to Bagni di Lucca next September for a wedding, and am hoping to stay around the rough area for a few days afterwards. I love swimming in rivers, lakes, pools etc and wondered if there are any good recommendations on where to stay? I'm quite happy to travel a bit further from that area if it's worth it. Are there any particular swimming spots anyone would recommend? Thank you, any help is appreciated.

This is an intriguing question, and perhaps one best answered by the locals in the area.

My only consideration is that September is still pretty close to the summer months which are notoriously dry throughout Tuscany. What does this mean for you? Many streams, rivers, lakes and swimming holes are pretty dry. However you will be located in the mountains, and the locals most propbably have a few secret places closer to the source or beginning of the Lima and Serchio rivers (after all the town is called Bagni ... meaning baths, so there is bound to be some water nearby )

    Buon Viaggio,

    Donna Denise
