Four days in Florence

I'll be visiting my daughter who is studying abroad in Florence. I'm arriving on Tuesday March 19th and leaving Sunday March 24th. Besides visiting the sites in Florence, we plan to visit some of the neighboring Tuscan towns. Some of the places that have been recommended to us are: Sienna, Montepulciano, Lucca, Cortona, San Gimignano, and Chianti. We would like to see as much as we can but spending quality time not rushing through. What would be the best itinerary you would recommend for the amount of time we have? We are uncomfortable driving a car. My daughter travels frequently using the train. We are also open to tours or hiring a driver if it's not too costly.
My flight is into Milan and will be taking the train from Milan to Florence. If I may also ask your recommendation on traveling from Milan Airport to the Milan train station.
Thank you,
RitaZ

I believe there is a shuttle from the Milan airport that will take you to the Milan centrale station so that you can easily take the train to Florence. I just remembered we posted info on this during the Milan Expo, you can see the info on the airport to train station here:

I would definitely recommend you do your traveling by train -- and to get to the areas like Chianti or Val d'Orcia where there is no train, to join group tours to get there and around -- take a look at some of these from Florence:

Enjoy the time together this week! :D
