Default getting around Florence by taxi when your handicapped

My wife is somewhat challenged with a mobility issue. She can only walk(with a cane) for short distances (no wheel chair or walker). We plan to visit Piazzale Michelangelo by taxi. would the taxi drop us off on the upper level by the fence? On our return do the taxis pick you up at the upper level?

The taxis can get you pretty close to the panoramic view over Florence, less than 50 meters on a flat, paved parking lot!

It has been recently (in the last few years) revamped quite a bit but the parking to the square is very very close, and you should have no problem. And if it is not close enough then the taxi can take you to San Miniato (located 5 mins from Piazzale Michelangelo and even higher up!)and drop you off in front of the church - where you will walk less than 10 meters to get an even better panoramic view (on a flat paved surface). Getting into the church will probably be a challenge - there are lots and lots of steps

    Buon Viaggio,

Yes, the taxi spot where they park is right on the very top ramp of the piazzale Michelangelo, so you should be able to get there fine with taxi and walk to the nearby balustrade to enjoy the view, picking up the taxi again in the same spot.
