My wife , daughter (18 yrs) and I are planning a Mediteranean cruise in August 2021 from Barcelona ending in Venice with Italian stops in Naples/Pompei/Capri -1 Day, Rome - 1 day. Livorno (Pisa/Florence - 1 day) in August 2021.


We then plan on spending arrival day/night in Venice 17th.
Then head to Florence 1-2 days 18/19 with one night/day in Wine country.
Rome 1-2 Days 19/20
Frosinone 21 - 1 Day
Leave Italy on 22

Buongiorno,

Though the cost probably won't change much between car and train tickets - I believe that the train will be more comfortable and probably much faster allowing you more time to enjoy and tour the points of interest you have selected.

Florence really could use the full two days - and if you catch a speedy train between Florence and Rome you will save yourself a lot of hassle (not even the locals like to drive a car in the city of Rome!)
