10 days, Tuscany in May

My wife and I are very excited about our upcoming vacation in Tuscany, the first time in Italy for either of us! Our trip is in mid-May, flying into Rome/renting a car and headed up to Siena for three nights, to Lucca from there for three nights, then down to Pienza for our final four nights. We drive back to Rome to return the car and get on the plane back home (Massachusetts in the US) from there.
This forum has been incredibly helpful and fun as a research guide in planning our trip and thinking about things to do, but I thought I'd post and see what insights, ideas, and guidance might follow. Thanks!

I'm glad you found our forum useful! Have you read our pages on ideas on what to do while in Siena, Lucca and Pienza?

Siena - https://www.discovertuscany.com/siena/
I suggest spending the time in Siena to see it well, including walking around, visit and climb up the Palazzo Pubblico and Torre del Mangia, the Duomo (and baptistery, crypt), Santa Maria hospital right in front of the Duomo

Lucca - https://www.discovertuscany.com/lucca/
Make sure you rent a bike and go around the center a couple of times ;) I think an hour rental might be enough - it was a lot of fun when we did it.
Since you have a car, you should definitely explore the area around - the Marlia villa and gardens, for example, as well as head to Barga and stop at the Ponte del Diavolo. Or head to the Bagni di Lucca hot springs.

Pienza and the Val d'Orcia in general - https://www.discovertuscany.com/valdorcia/
San Quirico is a must, as well as Montalcino, the nearby Abbey of Sant'Antimo, Buonconvento, the San Filippo hot springs, in addition to Montepulciano and Montichiello..... bagno Vignoni, you'll see, just stop where something looks interesting ;-).

You might actually find you don't have enough time to see it all :D
