Help with moving around in Tuscany

Hi Lourdes,

Could you please help me with my itinerary. I am travelling with my husband and 10 month old baby to Tuscany in the last week of September.

We have booked a car from Florence to travel around Pisa, Siena and the Chianti region. Our accommodation is booked at Candida's B&B.

On our first day we are planning to collect the car from Florence and travel to Pisa and then check in to the B&B. Is parking easily available in Pisa?

Are frequent buses available from San Casciano to Florence and back, for sight seeing in Florence?

Is parking easily available in Siena and San Gimignano?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Kind Regards
Jeena

Parking

Parking in Pisa is easy - and well indicated. Here is a link to see where the main ones are: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/u/0/viewer?mid=zn-qcjMT8Dd4.kW5ldGN5lDF4
The one closest to the tower is really pretty big so you should always find space there, and it is really right across from the tower.

San Gimignano has large parking lots outside of the city walls, easy to find...however there are a bit of stairs if you are thinking about taking a stroller.

Siena has parking - it is the largest of the three places indicated and perhaps the most confusing. Here is a link to an article with more detailed info http://www.discovertuscany.com/siena/tourist-info/parking-lots-in-siena.html

However just a bit of infor, Parking lots are always indicated with a blue sign with a large "P" in the middle. Most of them have automated parking meters, so you might want to be sure you have small bills or change and the average cost is a bout 1.50 - 2 Euros and hour. All three places have paid parking - it would be tough to find un paid parking. Caution will in Pisa and Siena, keep an eye for ZTL signs which are normally an indication that these are off limits for cars.

Buon Viaggio
