Ciao,

Me and my wife will be in Florence in August. We are panning to take a short driving trip to explore scenic route in Tuscany. We will stay at Affittacamere Alba and pick up a rental car on Borg Ognissanti at 10am, so that we need to return the car at 10am on the next day to avoid extra day of rental.

Our itinerary (Driving Map)

Florence - Strada - Greve - Castellina - Siena - San Gimingiano - Florence or vice versa.

I'm wondering where should we start, San Gimiangiano or Chianti?
Where should we spend a night to make sure that we can return the car by 10am?

Any comments or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Nui

Where to Stay for Car Return

Buongiorno -

Chianti would be the best place to stay (end your trip) and I suggest you look into Greve in Chianti, it would be the closest little town to Florence. The town offers many possibilities and it is a great place to "hang" in the evening with a busy town square, many restaurants and cafes and a few quaint little shops.

The drive from Chianti to Florence should be quick (and painless :) ) and you will have some lovely views along the way to finish off your excursion.

Buon Viaggio
