Florence and Tuscany in 3 days by public transport

my family will be reaching Florence from Rome(around 10.30 am 2nd july) and have 3 days to cover Florence and Tuscany.
We are planning to stay close to the Firenze S.M.N station.
Needed advice on the best way to see Florence and Tuscany by public transport.

Wanted to cover the Accademia,Duomo museum, Uffizicity(1 day?)
Pisa (1/2 day) (public transport or private tour?)
1 day Tuscany (public transport or private tour?)

my opinion

Hello.

If you plan to spend only 1 day in Florence, i would not do the Uffizzi, as it is quite big and time consuming. I also reccomend hiring a private guide to get the most out of the experience.

For day 2, you can take a train to Pisa. There aren't enough things to see to stay more than half a day. The other half you can do the Uffizzi, a brief wine tour or just spend it relaxing in Florence, exploring the less beaten paths.

If you want to explore the Tuscan countryside in 1 day, i would reccomend a custom countryside tour. The pre-planned full day tours might be tempting, but are usually limited in what you get to do and see, and better if you have more time on your hands. Public transportation may be possible, but i would not reccomend it if you have 1 day.

Buongiorno,

I think Leonardo has a good point when he says that is a lot to due in Florence all on one day - a bit of overload. Splitting it up with a half a day in Pisa is a good idea - and if you are close to the train station you can go to Pisa and the Square of Miracles on your own.

As for a a private tour including wine tasting and Chianti, there are lots of options. Check out this link to see what is possible: https://www.partner.viator.com/en/8357/travel-tips/Wine-Tasting-in-Chianti-and-Tuscany/ttd

or you could have a look at this article that tells you a bit about getting around via public transport in Chianti. Greve in Chianti, Impruneta and Barberino val d'Esa are all easy day trips on your own with public transport.

You could do the Accademia and the sights around the Duomo on day 1, dividing one in the morning and the others in the afternoon. Take time to explore the city on foot.

Day 2 could be the morning in Pisa, then head back to Florence to see the Uffizi.

Day 3 - you could catch a bus to SG, spend the morning there and then catch another bus to Siena, spending the rest of the day there.
Or you could make it easier for you and join a guided tour so that you don't have to worry about transport - take a look at this one:

Hello,

I plan to rent a car and drive from Florence to Chianti wine area. Spend a day there as my train leaves from Florence to Milan at around 20:00. Is one day enough to go around Chianti area? and could someone recommend the places that are worth visiting? Thanks a lot!

A day exploring Chianti

Buongiorno,

Have a look at these two articles for an idea of a day trip in Chianti

http://www.chianti.com/traveling-through-chianti.html

http://www.chianti.com/itineraries-in-chianti/one-day-in-chianti.html

Greve in Chianti is a favorite town and has lots of restaurants and shops to stroll around in. THe scenery from Greve to Panzano is goregous...and I would take the time to get down as far as Castellina in Chianti and maybe from there head towards Monteriggioni.

Buongiorno!

I think one day is a too short time to visit this city. You have the chance to visit Uffizi, Cappelle Medicee, San Lorenzo, Galleria dell'Accademia, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, Corridoio Vasariano, Santa Croce, Santa Maria del Fiore and too much many other landmarks.
But I think you can find some short guides about the things not to miss in Florence (check out the Federico Minghi's one for example).
And if you can visit the Chianti region, from Volpaia to Radda.
