We will be in Florence only for two nights. June 7th and 8th. Please tell us the best way to see the city and Tuscany. We know it will be a limited overview. An authentic local restaurant for the two evening meals would be appreciated.
We arrive in Pisa June 2nd from Canada. Our first five days are in Cinque Terre. Suggestions for that time would also be appreciated.

Ideas for Florence

Buongiorno,

That's a lot of time in Cinque Terre, but if you enjoy nature, hiking and a bit of beach time then it will be well spent. However, if you could swing another day in Florence, I believe you will truly appreciate the diversity of this amazing city.

A few ideas for how to approach the city in 48 hours can be found on this article:
https://www.visitflorence.com/itineraries-in-florence/two-days-in-florence.html

I also suggest you look at this link where you will find several ideas for do-it-yourself walking tours, these themes follow Michelangelo or Dante through the city giving you the option to enter museums, but it is not necessary to truly enjoy the atmosphere. Be sure to check out this article which includes three itineraries which are great for a twilight stroll:

As for a good meal - there are really so many options! And the variety is surprising, especially if you only think pasta and pizza. Read this article which gives you a bit of back ground on the class types of restaurants and then this one highlights the traditional "bistecca Fiorentina". If you click through here you can browse several articles highlighting different types of food and where to find them.

We prefer to highlight our own experiences, so many of the places we write about we have also eaten at or tasted - unsponsored

Buon Viaggio,
