travelling by car
Hi Everyone.
Can anyone please advise us on the best scenic route from Pisa airport to Radda in chianti by car.
We really want to avoid the motorways and want to drive in the country.
It is our first time in Tuscany and we are travelling with our 4 kids.
Any info will be much appreciated.
Regards
Taher/Helen

Driving to Radda in Chianti
Buongiorno,
From the Pisa airport, I suggest you look at passing through Volterra, San Gimignano and then over to Radda in Chianti. This really only adds a half hour to your travel time, and definitely takes you offer the main highways into some of the more characteristic scenery of Tuscany.
Both of those towns merit a stop and a walk about.

San Giminano: https://www.discovertuscany.com/san-gimignano/
I think a combination of both of these cities would fill up your day - maybe even too much
other towns after Volterra you can try to add, which are smaller but not too far off the track to Radda:
Poggibonsi: http://www.chianti.com/what-to-do-in...-overview.html
Colle val d'Elsa: https://www.discovertuscany.com/colle-val-d-elsa/
Buon Viaggio,
