We have rented a villa in the Maremma region from May 19th-26th

We will have a car, what itinerary would you recommend?

Thanks

Ciao Ray,

If this is not your first time in Tuscany, I'd suggest to completely dedicate your week to exploring the Maremma area as there are many sides to it: the seacoast with its beaches and islands (the now famous Giglio), the inland cities hidden in valleys of stone (Pitigliano, Sorano, Sovana), Grosseto, the wine roads of Montecucco and Morellino di Scansano, heading up into Monte Amiata and into the Val d'Orcia, and much more. Definitely recommend visiting the towns of Massa Marittima and arriving to Monticiano and to the nearby San Galgano Abbey.... maybe on a day trip to Siena?

All these are in Maremma and will cover your entire week, so there wouldn't be a need to go further to see many sides of Tuscany. It all depends if you've never been to Florence or driven through Chianti.... because you could include them as well if this is your first trip. Where exactly are you staying in Maremma? It is a large area so if you're staying at the very southern edge of the region, it will be slightly longer to drive to most of the places but definitely doable.
