A group of 4 of us are looking to stay for a few days in Chianti during our Italy trip. I would really love to stay somewhere in the wine country rather than in the city of Florence but still be near transportation in case we wanted to tour other wineries, dine out, etc. I have found several villas and farmhouses that look wonderful but pricing is listed and we don't want to spend a fortune on this one aspect of our trip.
I stumbled across Fattoria Viticcio during my searching and it seems like exactly what we were searching for as it offers its own winery tour, beautiful accommodations, and is close to Greve. I have sent a contact form to inquire about pricing but haven't received an answer.
I also looked into the idea of actually staying in Greve and making trips to various wineries in the area. Has anyone done this? Is it difficult to get wineries/castles in the area from here as most tours leave from Florence or Sienna?
I'm really just at a loss as to how to make the most of our 3 days in the Tuscany area and would love any advice.
