Visiting Tuscan region for the first time
We are visiting the Tuscan region for the first time in May. Our plan is to spend 2 days in Rome, a few days in the heart of Siena, a few days in an agriturismo in Umbria then back to Rome to be near the airport. We are thinking we would like visit Siena, Assisi,Venice, Florence and anywhere else that makes sense. We are planning between 10 and 12 days. We want to experience the Italian culture and of course eat great food and drink lots of wine
Any suggestions are much appreciated!!
Thank you.

Buongiorno,
Sounds like a lot to do! But everything is possible while on vacation.
You may want to consider three days in Siena and two days in Florence, I strongly suggest you use the frequent and fast trains from Florence to do a day in Venice.
day 1 - 2 - 3 Rome, train to Florence
day 4 - 5 Florence
day 6 - day trip to Venice, sleep in Florence
day 7 - 8 - 9 Siena, get a car in Florence and drive to Siena, visit Chianti along the way (day trips to San Gimignano, Pienza, Val d'Orcia)
day 10 - 11 Umbria, drive from Siena visit Cortona or Arezzo along the way(Assisi, Perugia, Spello)
day 12 drive to Rome Airport
Buon Viaggio,
Donna Denise
