    Post First Timer To Florence

We fly into Venice September 5, 2019 staying 2 nights and would like to take the fast train to Florence. We hope to spend 1-2 nights in Florence before taking the fast train to Rome where we pick up our cruise.
This is our first time to Florence and are hoping you can suggest the best and safest areas to stay to get the most out of our short stay.
Suggestions of highlights, accommodations, trains, weather are gratefully appreciated.

I suggest you start by reading this article on what to do in 2 days in Florence: http://www.visitflorence.com/itinera...-florence.html
You will links within the article to other useful articles, as well as can search for accommodation from the top menu - for accommodation, I suggest you stay centrally so that everything is within a short walking distance. Florence is a very walkable city!
In the beginning stages of planning to come to Tuscany? Make sure to read Where to Stay in Tuscany WITH a car and Where to Stay in Tuscany WITHOUT a car for ideas on where to stay in Tuscany. Also read When to Visit Tuscany to decide when is the best times for your visit.
