Caves (natural type)

I'm wondering -Is it feasible to visit the wonderful caves to the North for a day excursion
when based in either Florence or Pisa relying on public transport.

Just to make sure we understand which caves you are referring to, are you talking about the wind caves in Garfagnana, the ones we talk about here? Wind Cave, Grotta del Vento in Garfagnana

Just want to make sure I can give you the information for the correct location you're interested in...
