Chestnuts season in Tuscany
At which months is the best to travel around Tuscany to enjoy the fresh chestnuts (Castagne e marroni) season in the local restaurants?
Thank you,
Nir.

October and November are the months of the chestnut!
Ciao Nir,
Fresh chestnuts are available throughout October and early November so that is the best time to also find them in restaurants.
If you come during chestnut season, there are lots of sagre or food festivals around Tuscany based on the castagna.
Just two examples: this one in Sassofortino in the upper Maremma area http://www.festadellacastagna.info/ and the more famous one in Marradi in the Mugello valley to the north of Florence: http://www.sagradellecastagne.it/ (every Sunday in October)
I found this site with lots of recipes and general information on both castagne and marroni which I found interesting and like to share with all: http://www.marroniecastagne.it/index_en.cfm

No problem, if you are interested in going to a sagra while in Tuscany, Google something like "sagra castagna" + locality of where you'll be in Tuscany.
Although for sagre, local tourism offices remain the best source for these types of events... many are not publicized on the internet very well.
