Like a Perfect Postcard
The pure essence of Tuscany from every direction. Villa Corsanello, located in the center of the classical Siena landscape, is a stunning solution to a private vacation villa rental in Tuscany. Even before it comes into view, you will be totally enchanted with the spectacular views of rolling hills, the Crete Sensei and Siena in the near distance.
As I rang the bell on the gated property, I inhaled the crisp country air, the warm sunshine and the hint of colorful blooms behind the wall. Parking in the shadow of the villa, I admired the well manicured lawn, the sage and rosemary and the way everything blended so perfectly with the wide expanses of Tuscany.
Extra "TLC" Makes it Shine
That's "Tender, Loving, Care" at work here. It is immediately evident that the Nardi family pour their hearts and attention into maintaining the gardens and recreational areas of Villa Corsanello. Between the outdoor living room, the covered picnic table, the open air gazebo and the aquamarine sparkle from the supersized pool, the villa provides numerous ways to enjoy the panoramic vistas that make this holiday home so special.
The first time I saw this barn, totally in ruins, was in the month of June and the thing I remember is how the landscape just spoke to my heart (apre il mio cuore),” Claudia, your hostess commented “the barn was in pieces but I saw beyond that and knew with a view like this it was what I wanted.”
Once you are here, sitting on the covered patio which spans the front of the villa, you will find new ways to appreciate and reciprocate her feelings. The outside is so easy to live: plan a BBQ, a lazy day be the pool or even playing on the grass. After such a wonderful welcome outside, I was totally prepared to fall in love with the interiors. And I did. They completely mirrored the families intent to create a home, not a rental.
It was obvious that this is where they would come to mellow out and soak up the beauty...and the decor reflects comfort and hominess.
An interesting mix of modern decor blends well with their intent ro preserve an ambiance that speaks of pure Tuscany. Rinaldo and Claudia, your hosts, have accomplished the near impossible, create a real home for those on vacation. The barn was totally in pieces when they took over which gave them the absolute freedom to gut and organize it in a way that would appeal to today’s modern traveller. It would have been too easy to succumb to the naturally dark interiors of a “fienile” but the inside of this villa rental is full of natural light which highlights the spacious interiors.
A Review of Villa Corsanello
We loved: privacy and silence as well as the beautiful, elegant and modern decor
Ideal for: families & friends who want to live in the Tuscan experience up close
Modern Comforts All the Way Around
The eat-in kitchen, with its double doors to the massive wood picnic table features up to date and modern fixtures. I particularly loved the division between the pantry where there is a dishwasher, clotheswasher and microwave. And I couldn't help but appreciate the quick access to the BBQ area. This division makes it easy to keep things clean and the kitchen remains inviting.
In addition, I was fascinated with the creative way they designed the living room and formal dining area. Using the traditional light colored travertine tile and large picture windows, they were able to draw everything together for the perfect living space. Summer, fall and even winter, the fully functional fireplace adds character and warmth.
But the piece that truly piqued my curiosity: why the loft? Why not just have steps leading to the upstairs bedrooms or better yet, use that space to add more bedrooms?
The Best View in the House
Villa Corsanello in a Glance:

Once you are look out the floor to ceiling window and your eyes focus on the horizon then it all becomes crystal clear. The distinctive Siena skyline is easily discernable on the sloping hills of grain. And it is breathtaking.
”This is the best part of the house,” and this from the woman who has lived here in this area all her life,” the view is just mesmerizing.”
I admit wouldn’t say it is the best feature, it definitely ranks in the top 5.
From the point of view of a guest I would have to list the spacious bedrooms and bathrooms as pretty high up on my list of things to love, next on my list would be the inviting garden and pool area … and then the modern facilities and WiFi.
You'll Never Tire of the View
I also couldn’t help but appreciate the division of the bedrooms with one downstairs and three upstairs, or the ingenious method of using glass barriers to keep the bedrooms isolated and noise free.
I might even add the convenient position. Just a few km from restaurants and shops. After that first day of travel, you will definitely appreciate the shopping service that your hostess offers; you can arrive and relax immediately because she will have everything there for dinner, lunch and breakfast including the wine chilling in the refrigerator.
She is also a wealth of information about the local scene, in fact she speaks quite highly of the two young “entrepreneurs” who are full of energy and offer the best of the best at their little restaurant just a few km away. Especially delicious: the locally sourced meats. I would venture to say you could even walk there in the evening, down the peaceful “white road” which runs in front of the house, I imagine it would be quite picturesque illuminated by the stars and the moon.
Villa Corsanello represents the ideal vacation villa rental incorporating the natural beauty of Tuscany and Siena into it's spacious living areas. In addition, with its tasteful decor, classical elegance taking care of your everyday necessity, this 4 bedroom, three bathroom villa is inviting for all ages.
